850 turbo trans problem
I have an 850 turbo. The car will run well if you are just cruising along but if you try to accelerate quickly it seems that it slips out of gear and the car just revs higher and you are just coasting. Once i let off the gas it will go back into gear and you can continue down the street. If I put the car into 1st or second gear the arrow upshift light will come on and stay on untill I switch it back to drive. Also the tracs light and the ABS light will come on sometimes when your driving but once you turn the car off and back on it will turn off. I took the gear position sensor out(not sure if thats the right name or not), took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. When i replaced it, it still did the same thing. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL!!! Sounds like classic low on fluid. The dip stick is hard to see, in the front to the right of the cooling fan. It is yellow. Check with the engine idleing and trans in park. Fluid should be red, not black, red.
Well it's definetely not the fluid level. I checked the fluid and it was full and bright red. It doesn't look dirty or anything. Could it be the shift solenoid thats making it do this. Thanks to those who posted how to fix the fuel pump relay. i replaced the capacitors yesterday and the car runs much better. all I need now is to figure out what's wrong with this tranny. So please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I pulled the codes from the diagnostic box under the hood and the only one it brings up is 5-3-5. It says that could either be the TC control valve signal or power stage in ICM group e unknown fault. What exactly do these mean? could either one be the problem?
