850 Volvo Wagon: Starter Issues?
I bought a '95 850 turbo wagon a couple months ago that has been running great until this morning. I got into the car to go to work, put the key in the ignition, dash lit up, radio and lights turned on etc... But when I tried to start it I got nothing. No crank or anything I could hear. The battery is charged and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary under the hood. So I am suspecting the starter but i don't really know where to start. Any tips or advice??
Thanks in advance.

when you turn the key to the ignition to the starter postion does it click or just silence .
if its silence the start soleniod not working.
if you get a click and no turn over its probably the starter.
A good way to check is with your lights on full beam. If they are on brightly then dim after a couple of secs you may have a battery problem
if not turn the starter (no click its the solenoid) with a click but the lights dim your getting power to the starter but theres a problem with it.
hope this helps

Yeah, I did hear a click when I had someone else try to crank it, but it didn't seem to be coming from the starter. I'll have to look again... and my high beams stayed on fine so I'm not thinking its a battery issue. I am gonna have one of my more car savvy friends look at it when he gets back into town in a day or two. Until then I am gonna keep riding my old schwinn...
Thanks for the help, I'll keep you guys posted
