850 wagon squeeling
Hey guys, im pretty new to the volvo game, im an ex-nissan guy.
I recently bought a 96 850 turbo wagon, beautiful car, has its few small here and there problems but nothing major.
From time to time when I turn on the heat the passenger side vent on the dash makes this horrible screeching sound that makes me want to tear my hair out, when blower is on full blast it wont do it but on any other setting, it does. I know this sound is comming out of the vent and I dont want to take it apart unless I have to, any ideas??
thanks

That is a common issue. Replacement is easy but I would follow the service manual as you would be working close to the pax-side SRS. If you have basic metric sockets & Torx tools the replacement is easy. Some people have successfully cleaned & lubed the blower, but mine was fixed for 3 days then I was pulling my hair out again so I replaced it.
Good luck,
JPN
