Default squeeling around belts

I started my car in my garage and immediately heard a squeeling under the hood. I turned the car off after about 15 seconds and lifted the hood to find smoke coming from, what i was told, was the AC compressor. It's the unit at the bottom of the belt system (I'm not a mechanical guy..)
I left it for a couple days and went to try starting again but it won't turn over. Doesn't seem like the battery's dead, just doesn't have the juice to start.
Was wondering if I could get an expert opinion before I have it towed to Volvo..
Not sure if its coincidental but I had an oil change done the day before this happened at Volvo. '01 S60T5

Maybe the A/C compressor locked up.

Also check the oil level and make sure it is full.
