Hello, 1996 850 turns over won't start, just replaced alt. and batt., ran an hour and died. Gauges go wacky. Any help, thanks

 

When you say it ran for an hour, was that while driving or just sitting in the parking spot? Were there any dash lights lit up?

 

You might want to check the battery terminal for the positive. It needs to be tightened down on both sides. One side tightens the terminal to the battery and the other tightens the feed wires to the fuse box.

I learned that the hard way after I removed the battery to charge it and it died going down the road.

 

Ran for an hour driving, lost power and tack was surging, now cranks over, won't start, like no spark or no fuel. Thanks

 

Did you watch the video and do the trouble shooting?

 

Does it have fuel, does it have spark ?? I hope you don't think I can tell from here
