850R Intake?
Hey guys, wondering if any company makes a full cold air intake for the 850R. I have a stock '96 and I'm looking to do some minor upgrades to get a little more power out of it. A mechanic I work with has a full cold air intake for his S70, said he bought it and it should be the same for the 850 but all I can find is a short ram kit on ipd. If anyone knows where to get a full intake, let me know, thanks!
Not that I know of. You can get ipd's short air intake, and then pair it up with snabbs pipe and that is what I am going to assume what your mechanic has.
Performance Fresh Air Pipe 93-97 850 T5
Or you can spend the money and have a custom shop make one to your liking.
My friend is running the ipd intake and the snabb pipe and hasn't had problems yet. Had it almost a year now. Does help throttle response.
make sure to do stage 0 before doing performance mods or you start really mashing the pedal to the floor

Your going to have to get two different systems. Before the turbo and after the turbo. The only REAL cold air intake that I have seen is made by CDA. That one replaces the factory airbox, pulls air from the OEM vent over the radiator and does not take on heat from the engine compartment. This is before the turbo. After the turbo you can purchase a RIP (reverse intercooler pipe) and still use the factory intercooler or you can get a prefab FMIC (front mount intercooler) or make your own.
Before the turbo you can pick up a Jaguar canister from an older model jag and make your own. Thats what I use.

OP: how much HP are you interested in? From what I've read the stock air box is good until beyond 300 bhp or so. If you're interested letting the engine breath I would look the exhaust first.
Stage0 first, then read this:

BP: do you drive that monster on the street still, or is that a dedicated track car now?
