1+, I recently learned that. When a car over heats, it will cause the weak link to burst. All the heat and pressure.

I need to be clear. In your case it might only be a thermostat and the thermostat would be the cure.

I'm talking about having a working thermostat and an overheating problem and trying to fix the overheating problem by using a newer cooler thermostat. It will open sooner but the "problem" will still drive the engine to overheat.
