855r rear brakes seem to grab abruptly upon stopping
Not sure how to explain this, but when I'm slowing to a stop, I get down to inching speeds and then suddenly stop, with a bit of a bounce. Seems to be coming from the rear brakes. Also makes a creaking noise upon brake release. Could it be play in my rear suspension causing these things? No matter how delicate I am with the brakes, it happens when I come to stop.
Thanks for any thoughts.

It could still be the brakes IMHO. Have you checked the proportioning valve and all the hard (steel) underbody lines? Have you checked your parking brake shoes lately? May as well be thorough right? Better safe than sorry
Could also be a combination of brakes and suspension...as to what in the suspension, you've got me (not familiar enough with the Volvo setup to comment)

Well I know for a fact the parking brake isn't functioning properly, how could that affect the discs though?
I don't think the lines are bad, as it feels totally normal as I brake, it's just that miniscule last moment as it comes to a total stop, but I'll take a second look. Maybe the rears aren't braking until that last moment and them coming on is causing the abruptness?
