Default ~~ Weird Side Marker Lights ~~

Does everybody have these side marker lights? Manual makes no mention of them and I wonder how to get them open to change the light bulbs!

Looks like a sedan model? Those markers remind me very much of the ones Saab used on the newer generations (2k MY and up, 9-5, etc)

Usually (at least on the Saabs) you can take a small flat blade screwdriver (jewelers screwdriver, etc) and just pry ***gently*** on the front or rear of the light and it should pop out. I suspect they are held in similar to the red courtesy door jam lights in our cars...To avoid damaging the paint on the car, I would also recommend running a small strip of electrical tape next to the light for the screwdriver to pivot on

You shift the light assembly forward or aft just a little, then work the light assembly out of the finder. Once they are out, you have a bulb that simply twist out of the socket.

My 2002 V40 has them.
As rspi describes, they slide forward and then you carefully work them them free.

So the whole light fixture comes out and off the car, then comes apart? I will try it tomorrow, thanks!
