I recently purchased a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT with 160xxx miles on it, but has received a 97 850 engine in it with about 70xxx miles on it.

The issue is that there is not spark. It was sitting for a few weeks to a month and when it was tried to start it wouldn't. Most recent diagnostic has shown that there is no spark.

No sure were to start. Looking for a manual now and hoping to, with advise from you guys, be able to run some electrical test before having to replace parts.

sounds like a typical Cam sensor problem to me.

 

So is there a way to test it before I drop the $100 on it?

ok tested the coil. Got battery voltage on the red wire and about 7 volts on the blue. what does this mean?

the manual says .7 to 1.5 volts is ok, but what does it mean if the voltage going to the coil is to high?

 

Replaced Coil and cam sensor. Still showing the numbers above. Any idea what that means?
