93 850 HVAC - damper motors again
As posted earlier, I just replaced the floor/defrost damper door on my HVAC system, necessitation the complete removal of my dash, and of course, the removal of the damper motor. The shaft on the damper door had split and broken apart who knows how long ago.
This means that the motor position may be anywhere in its travel, so I don't know whether to open the damper and then install the motor, or close the damper and then install the motor onto the shaft... What I was thinking was, open up the damper motor and reposition that cam into the middle of its travel so that I know to have the damper door in the halfway point... does anyone know if this will work or if it is even necessary? I know I'll still have to do that "learning" mode, but I want to make sure that I don't twist off the new shaft after the initial try...

Hello mate,
I am not sure as to which damper motor you're working on, and I myself have not performed damper motor servicing. I'll attach a pic and see if you can mark which motor you're working on. Someone else may be able to direct you to the right direction.
I'll delete the pic within the next 3 days so make sure to save it in your PC.
Cheers,
JPN
