Default Locating the Pressure Regulator/Damper

Hello.

I own a 1999 v70 AWD XC. I recently have had a problem with it idling poorly immediately after I start it. It got very bad until one day I started the car and it sputtered alive and then died. I tried starting it and it just turned but wouldnt start. So I took it into a mechanic and he told me that my problem was the fuel pressure regulator and damper. He told me the fuel psi was 53 where it should have been 40-45 and it was flooding my engine. I think this is true. So I bought a fuel regulator and damper but I am not sure exactly where they go or if both actually exist on my car. I have attached the picture of the regulator and damper along with a picture of under my hood (sorry for the blurriness, i took this at night)what looks like what i was told was the damper. I have purchased these two but I can only find the one that looks like the saucer with only one vaccum end. My questions are as follows:

1. Does my car have both of these items?
2. If so, where is the regulator (the one with the vaccum end and the two other fuel line ends) located?

I am wondering if these two parts are the same but for different years, but I have found them on seperate websites along with the sellers both telling me they went to 1999 v70 volvos. I am very confussed and would love to get this fixed because I know it will be really easy. Thank you so much for your help.

One should be on the fuel rail. The other might be inline between the fuel rail and tank.

Yeah. I can see what looks like the damper on the fuel rail. I just dont see where the regulator is at all.

You will have to follow the lines to the rear of the car.

I followed the fuel line all the way to the tank but could not find anything that looked like the second picture. I think the problem is that my car is supposed to be a turbo but the fuel rail is designed for a non-turbo. The appearance of the fuel regulator is different for a non-turbo and a turbo. Of the pictures I attached, the first picture is the picture of a regulator in a non-turbo 2.5L 1999 v70 and the second is for a turbo 2.5L 1999 v70. I foudnt his out by going to eeuroparts.com and selecting a non-turbo and then a turbo version of my car and looking under the fuel injection tab. So my guess is that, in this case, the damper and regulator are synonymous and maybe the mechanic was throwing on extra parts he figured where there. He was not a volvo mechanic. but I do not understand why my car is a turbo but has a fuel rail designed for a non-turbo.
