1993 850 glt 5 speed. Just bought, knowing of vibration. Mild to moderate vibration in 1st and reverse, while departing. (while engaging clutch) Can easily finesse my way around it, especially in 1st. Compensating for it with throttle and clutch balancing is second nature now, but it is definitely a symptom. It is more prevalent in reverse. it is not violent or earth-shaking, it is mild to moderate. Tranny mounts? Tranny? Or: There is a clutch something-or-other that is there to reduce vibration to the cabin..... I can't remember what it's called(?) Any thoughts anyone? Thanks, Dan -Colorado

 

Probably bad/worn mounts. Check them first.

 

I might be inclined to say your Flywheel is warped? Depending on how old the clutch is and if they turned/resurfaced when a clutch was put in. A Warped Flywheel will give the same type symptoms.
