You were right Lee, the only place I found the matching metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor was located in China:

The description seems to be full of grammatical errors, though not as bad as others I have seen.
Here is my question. Why in the name of the Lord did Volvo or the OEM decide to use such a rare component? Cost effectiveness?

Alright, another update, I got the new transistor soldered in and it worked for a minute, then it cut out, then it went full on, then it hasn't started since...nothing, all the fuses are good and I had so many codes, so I plugged the 'regular' resistor back in and it again worked for a sec, then cut out...
Now, I am getting frustrated...LOL
In the manual they mention a tester 981-3190 and 3194 to measure resistance between pins, is this diagnosis something a stealer has to do or is this something I can do with a multimeter? The tester thing threw me...

So my frustration is kicking in and i decide to 'run the wires' I have proven that the motor was good yesterday by applying voltage from my charger and the motor speed varied when I put it on 6 volts and when I put it on 12 volts, meaning the motor was good, so after my frustration gets the best of me and I am worried sick about paying the stealer, I decide one last time to verify all the wires, and double check my codes, So, I read the codes, 3-1-8, 4-1-7 & 8, clear the codes, start the car, double check the codes and they are all gone...hmmm
Re run the wires, and with the car running I accidentally bumped the power connector, and my motor mysteriously started working, so as I tip the connector, the motor starts and when I let go the motor stops...so there is my problem, I double checked for codes, none, so I checked on aut and it works, and I checked on manual it works, now I have to go pull the(blower) motor, or at least look real close at the connector to find out exactly what is going on, but at this point I am sure it is minor, and I will update about my 'resistor fix'...Later...I gotta go before I become to tired to work on it...

Cleaned all the contacts for the blower motor, removed the connectors, cleaned inside them all, removed the motor from the case, cleaned it, sprayed some lithium on the bearings, reassembled it, sanded every connector with 400, sprayed with WD40 and re clinched the plugs so they fit tight, and put a little vaseline, on the connectors to keep out oxidation...
Put it back together, and it is purring like a champ, been running the blower on high for the past 20 mins in the garage, topped off the coolant and ...I think I am gonna drive my 93 to work tomorrow AM, should be pretty cold, so I am riskin it, but I believe in my workmanship...Hopefully I get home safe tomorrow...LOL what a hell of a last post!!!
