94 850 Turbo Sedan worth it?
I have a lead on a 94 turbo sedan the lady only wants 400$ runs and drives oil looks nasty though the car sat for the past 4 months. oil is a fudgy color. the she only used to commute a very short distance in it. has 230k on it. body is in good shape. is it worth it? sounds to me it needs a head gasket.
Yes it's worth $400. You can probably get $450 from the junk yard. However, the car has normal mileage on it so I don't buy the "short trips" story much. If that has been the cars life over the past year or so, with no oil change, that may just be condensation in the oil.
If you can afford it, do it. WTH, you have pulled a couple from junk yards.

I am amazed what people will junk. When I lived in Alaska (and even today) it was not uncommon to see 40 year old cars going strong and driven every day. And we are talking every kind of car you can imagine - old Volvos, Subarus, Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, Toyotas, pickup trucks, Land Cruisers etc. My sense is that an average European or Japanese car is more likely to die of owner boredom than actual mechanical failure.
The scrap yard only gives you guys $300 there? I think they do more like $450 here. Steel is up up up.
Patrick, I'm with you 100%. I did notice that most of those cars mentioned are imports. LOL
