Question 95 850 drivers side front axel stuck

i have the axel to the point where i can move it out less then 1/2 inch then its stuck wont come further. if i push it back in it spins but all the way out it does not have various pry bars and newest try was slide hammer with a claw (cv boot removal tool) that i thought would be perfect no luck the fact that it spins is what is confusing why does it come out 1/2 in but not the rest of the way. serious pressure applied.
i am new to the form so if this is not the place for this kind of stuff i apoligize. tell me where to go.

Don't hurt yourself. If you can't get it out, take it somewhere to have it done.

Took me a 10 lb slide hammer, the claw tool, and 2 1/2 ft of chain on the end of the tol to get it out. Broke my hand in the process. Best of luck to you on it!

You can always take put the bolt back on and try to jump a curb sideways with it. That knocks them out most of the time if you have the control arm loose.

Did you have the axle removed from the transmission and the spindle attached at the ball joint to the control arm when you were trying to pull it out with a come a along ??

Is the axle bad and that's why you are trying to remove it ??

Have you tried this tool (Picture) ??

removing the axel is the goal. the cv was bad and rather than screw wuth that i decided to replace the whole axel. it is supposed to pull right out. the truth is a little different.

Have you soaked those splines down some penetrating oil like PB Blaster ??
Have you tried to beat it out with a big hammer or sledge, again was the axle still in the trans or did you have it free of the transmission ??

For what most axles cost (45-60 bucks) I'm all for just doing the axle and then it's almost always warrantied if the boot or joint fail in the future. That compared to taking it out, taking it apart, cleaning out all the grease, replacing the joint and or boot, re-assembly, re-greasing and re-install ??

Any other advice on getting the axle out? The joint closest to the tranny was toast on mine and I can’t get the splines out. No good angle to drive a fork behind the casing

Pry bars on both sides would be my preference. It really does not take much force, but maybe if there is not good lubrication in there, the spring ring doesn't want to cooperate.
