Default '95 radiator...should I do it myself?

So, my radiator in my 1995 N/A wagon is leaking. It is now about 30 degrees here in NY...and going down!
My mechanic says that the removal and replacement is a PITA... he will give me a quote later today. Says that it is necessary to get the car higher than ramps to lower the unit out.
I read a tutorial or two, sounded 'do-able'...except that it is cold on the ground.
Anyone tackle this job? Any thoughts?
