After recent gas fill, car began to bog down and die. Changed fuel filter, checked fuel rail pressure-OK. OBD 11 code read MAF weak circuit. Cleaned MAF sensor with sensor cleaner. All to no avail. Car would run short while OK, then sputter dpwn and die. Couild keep motor running for while longer by pumping accelerator and keep RPM above 2,000; however sooner or later, say 2 minutes, it would die. Finally, I just disconnected MAF Sensor electrrically. Now motor runs almost normal, slight hesitation at times at low RPM.s. Help! Does this mean MAF Sensor is bad? Am hesitant to put out cost of new sensor only to find it is not the problem. Thanks all for any help you can give.

 

Do you have a wrecker or a friend that owns a 850 that would let you swap the part?
