so ive got a 96 850 wagon glt non turbo 5spd and put in a 97 850R turbo motor with wiring harness... now i cut up the autotrans wiring harness and i have of course a check engine light. im not running the autotrans ecu in the car! now the question is, is there a way or is there a company that can help me get rid of my engine light????? ecu reprogram? something... i need the light off so i can pass emissions!!!!!! someoen please help!!!!

off hand i dont remember i will post it tomorrow but the ecu is basically looking for the the TCU

 

The USA North American R ECU is programmed to talk to the transmission TCU. In Europe they sold the R with a stick and that is the ECU that you need. It might be worth a call to IPD - they were working on remapping the ECU software to ignore the auto transmission but I never heard if they did it or not. I would start with Lucky at IPD - he seems to know what is going on more than most.
