Default 96 850 turbo jerking

I have a 1996 850 turbo, and the lady couple of weeks when I wake in the morning to head to work it starts to jerking and the rpm seem to try dropping below 700, which I quickly put in neutral so the car doesn't shut off on me. Yesterday I was on the highway and started feeling the same jerking after cruising at 65 to 75mph. It persisted for about 7 miles. As more traffic appeared my speed was now limited to around 45mph. After reaching that slower speed it seemed the jerking started to subside and then went away all together. I really just want to know if anyone had any thoughts. Thanks in advance.
