Hello, I have a 97 850 T5 and the exhaust is leaking at the flex joint at the cat. My buddy has a 93 non turbo 850 parts car, I was wondering, do they use the same exhaust set up, could I put the one from his car onto mine or no since his isn't turbo?

You could maybe use the flex pipe from his exhaust, cut out yours and weld his in, otherwise they have two completely different downpipes.

 

They may be different Cats too.

 

I figured they would be different but one could always hope! I think I am going to drop the car off and have the exhaust repaired. The guys at European auto in town recommended I go see this certain guy. Said he can weld in the new flex pipe without taking the exhaust out of the car, and doesn't charge much so I think I'll drop it off there.

I am trying to sell the car due to the fact that I am moving and can't take it with me. Te exhaust has been leaking since I bought the car and I've put 20,000miles on it. However, yesterday it cracked a bit more and you can clearly hear the turbo spooling now so I figure I better get it fixed, especially since I am trying to sell the thing.
