Default ABS module Questions

My ABS module has failed, i took it apart to resolder it, and I didnt really see anything wrong except for that it had already been done once. I redid it anyway, and it wont work.

I do not care if the abs/tracs work. What does bother me is that my Speedometer and Odometer doesnt work.

Can I put a non tracs ABS unit in my car, will it plug in?

Moreso could i not put any module at all and get my speedo to work?

Why not just get another ABS module from junkyard?

The solder cracks (from my experience) are where the large connector terminals are soldered to the pcb. Look closely again while flexing the connector.

ABS is an extremely effective safety feature; TRACs not so much..

like i said when I went to repair it, i saw that it had already been done. So I tried it again, and it wont work..

I hate ABS when im on dry road, I hate it when im on snow, I hate it when im on the track. The primitive system in these cars makes braking a PITA. I live in canada, so we get tons of snow, any half decent driver should be able to stop there car sooner without ABS than with it. Example 1, your driving on an icy road 2 tires are are ice and 2 tires are on wet pavement with plenty of grip, you hit the brakes, ABS engages, your going through that stop sign now. Your thinking "2 tires are on pavement; WHY CANT I STOP!!!" Example 2, your on the track braking hard before the hairpin your front locks up a little ABS engages, and you ruined your lap.

anyway I might have to get a new module so I can get my speedo to work, I' ve already removed the lights from the dash for the abs and tracs anyway.

1 of the wires to my front ABS sensors broke. Stupid system that uses ABS sensors to detect speed, sometimes im not impressed with volvos..
