Default Cracked dash

1996 with black interior has been baking in Florida sun for 15 years, and in that time the dash has been in and out for an evaporator and various other repairs -- all of which has left it a rattling, cracked mess. I've looked online for a replacement dash assembly and dash pad. Is there a good source for these somewhere? This one is beyond repair. I imagine a new one costs as much as another 850. Suggestions, anyone?

Go to a junk/scrap yard and dig through the Volvo 850s you find there. Surely one of them will have a dash you can remove and buy!

That's what I always do when I need an obscure and no longer available car part.

I kind of have the same problem with my dash, and it drives me nutz (the rattling and sqeaking and assorted weird noises)... I came across a website not too long ago that lists several junk yards across the country that sell dashes, I have been waiting to hear back from one since the price wasnt too bad (about 300 bucks)... I will look again and see if I can find it and post it. Maybe you will have better luck getting a reply.

The thing about getting brittle plastic shipped is that it will likely be broke when you get it. Most of these dash have repair kits like in the S70 section. I would pull it and repair it with metal brackets or jb weld or something like that.
