AC Blower Fan quits, but on car restart it works again....
Hi Everyone,
I am new here and this looks like a great resource. We have a 1995 850 T wagon with dual climate controls and a variable fan speed selector that goes from Auto on the left side to High on right side of slider. At differernt times, no pattern, the AC blower fan stops. If you move the fan slider control, nothing happens. If we stop the car and restart it, the fan will again work fine, but sometimes this "fix" has to be repeated. The restrat must be resetting some switch or relay. BTW, I know the AC itself is still working because if we open the back of the sunroof and put the REC switch to ON cool air is moved from the dash openings. Also noticed last time that the REC light was blinking. Wife said blower quit this past winter while blowing heat and a restart "fixed" it. Any help will greatly be appreciated!
Thanks!!
Bad Blower motor and resistor.
The Blower motor is pulling to many AMPS and the computer is shutting it off.
When the Blower motor goes bad it also takes out the resistor.

Thank you for your quick reply. Dumb question... Is the resitor part of the motor and if that (resistor) was replaced would that solve the problem? Can motor be rebuilt? Or am I just tempting fate and am I better off to get new motor? Any idea on how much a new one costs and best place to get one? Again thank you!
Check http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo850cooling.htm I would buy both and replace to save you trouble.
