Default AC and Evaporator Question

AC runs cold for ten minutes then air gets warm and humid. About the same time the AC problem started my son noticed that there was a small fluid leak from under the glove compartment. (I haven't seen it to figure out if it's water or something else)

Are the two related?

Does putting in more freon usually fix the warm air problem?

Thanks,
JM

The compressor clutch might be bad.
Does it go back to being cold after a while?

I didnt see any fluid leak on mine but I think I have the same problem, leaking seal on the evaporator or even evaporator itself. Every time I add more freon it blows cold for about 10 minutes and it goes warm. I added dye this time and few minutes later underneath the car water/condense came out green, so there is a leak on the evaporator somewhere. How hard it is to get to it tech? It's on the passenger side right? Can you give me some idea how long does it take? thanks!

I have done a bunch of them and I can have it done in about 3 to 4 hours.

Book time is 10 hours.

Check out my instructions in the 850 section.

I've noticed my A/C will start to get cold. After a few miutes of cold air, it starts to warm up and blow warmer/humid air. Then it goes back to blowing cold. Kind of comes and goes. Any thoughts?

You might be low on freon. Then the system is cycling due to low pressure.

Thanks Tech. Now, where do I find the A/C connections? I have 134a in the garage, but don't see the fittings like in my other cars.

By right side, I'm assuming that you are referring to the passenger side. Is that connector the low side of the compressor? Does anyone have any pictures of the location?

Thanks,
JM

Yeah. any pics? I have a turbo if that makes a difference. On top of the passenger side strut tower, I have a yellow sticker saying it uses 134A and should be serviced by a professional. I have 134a in my garage that I can use, just need to know where fitting is to top off.
