Antenna Satellite Radio Problem

Antenna Satellite Radio Problem
Just picked up Sirius and no matter what I do the radio still sounds fuzzy.
I have placed the additional sirius antenna right over the wagon cargo window (where the antenna is mounted in the car) and it is still fuzzy.
My question is: If I get the dirrect connection kit from the store, will it directly fit into the antenna connection on the radio or will I need some sort of extra adapter?
Thanks

RE: Antenna Satellite Radio Problem
I think the optimal placement of satellite radio attennae should have an area around it of just metal (I think I read one square foot was recommended). Actually, putting it near the regular FM antenna could cause extra interference (fuzziness). I had/have mine routed to the roof near the back window (on my Eclipse) and have no fuzziness, but I do have a direct connection.
As to your actual question, when I installed mine into my Eclipse I didn't need any extra adapters. I think it's a pretty universal thing. As I recall, the connection from the kit to the radio looked like the plug that goes into an electric guitar. I think it just consisted of a port for the FM antenna, the satellite antenna and an outlet that connected into the back of the radio in the same port as the FM antenna went in before. It was a pretty simple install actually.

RE: Antenna Satellite Radio Problem
Well I ran into a problem with my BMW. the radio had a funky antenna connection so an adapter was needed.
So I was woundering if anyone else has purchased the direct connection kit and was it neccessary to purchase any type of antenna adapter.
btw.. my satellite antenna is on the middle of the hood and I get a great connection (3+ bars)
the extra antenna is a FM out which you put near the car radios antenna to get a better connection when you match up FM station numbers.
thanks for the post!

RE: Antenna Satellite Radio Problem
Ahh, I see. I'm not sure what Volvo radios have but I'm sure someone here can tell you. I immediately bought the direct connection kit for mine so I never tried transmitting to the FM antenna. Are you positive that the station you are using doesn't already have reception from a nearby radio station? I know that's another cause of interference if you are getting two signals on that frequency (your Sirius signal and a local station).
Hopefully someone can tell you what kind of connection is to the back of the Volvo radio. Btw, it might help to post your car specs (year, make, model) if you still have the stock radio (which I'm assuming you do).
