Best Spark Plugs for 97 850GLT Turbo?
It's time for a good tune up on our Volvo. It's a 97 850 GLT Turbo. I use NGK spark plugs on my Typhoon and like them a lot. Are there any other recommendations as far as spark plugs go? I've read a few posts and Volvo factory plugs were mentioned. Also, to be sure, what should they be gapped at? I read .028 gap, is that correct?
Oh, one last question, this will be my first tune up on a Volvo (and 5 cyl. engine.) Anything I should look out for or could cause a snag?
TIA

Bosch Platinums work really good as well.
Check the Date on the Plug wires if they are over 5-8 years old replace them and Cap and rotor.
It is straight foward and easy.

Thanks for the quick reply. We're taking a trip in Sept. and the car is up for it's 120,000 mile tune up. I'd rather do it all myself than pay Volvo $525 to do it. I'll look into the Bosch Plugs as well.
So I have a Jag XJS and a couple of Volvo's. So with the Jag as you can probably imagine I've become a good customer of WorldPac. Which is notably one of the biggest autoparts suppliers around. So for plugs and my Volvo 850, Norm at WorldPac directed me to the dealer!? He said "I'll sell you the others, but 99% of the shops we supply use the OEM 3 prong." Same deal with using OEM brake pads. -Just have to put up with the dust rather than the squeal.
