i would say 18" is all you need. You'll have a brutally harsh ride with the 18's and hardly any rubber. If you put 19's I couldnt imagine how bad it would be on an 850/s/v...

17" are on the R's. If you go 18's you will have a harsh ride and alway damage tires on bad roads.

The issue with what will fit is not the wheel size but the overall size of the wheel/tire once mounted. Stock tires are likely 195/65-15's or 205/55-16's. The R's have 205/45-17's but most of us run 215/45-17's. No matter how you stack them, they are all the same circomfrence. So they stand 32" off the ground, from ground to top of the tire (not the size, just an example). If you get 18" wheels and put 225/55's on them the wheel/tire will be larger and will rub in your wheel skirts or finders.

We are not telling you not to get larger wheels and run low profile tires, we are telling you what fits best. 17" wheels will look low, people compliment me on mine almost daily. If you go 18's and put 225/45's on them you will have some rubbing issues. 215/35's may be a better fit but will likely get damaged a lot.

On my sedan, I was running Kuhmo Estas and damaged those tires all the time. I never ran any of them out, had to replace them from damage all the time. If you have deep pockets, toss low profiles on.

My car's PO had 18" rims installed on it. You can see what it looks like if you click on link that'll take you to the pic in my "Garage." I don't have any rubbing but the ride is definitely harsh. I am looking to eventually replace them with 17" R rims. It should feel better with a little more rubber in the tire walls. I concur with what everyone else is saying. 19" rims would look out of scale and perform poorly; 18" will fit and look good; 17" seem to be the best in looks and performance.
