Bumpers from other cars on '94 850? =)
While replacing the front bumper on my car, I had a brainfart moment and laid the new bumper flat on the ground to get a better grip on the plastic clips holding the two parts together. Needless to say, the paintwork now looks like someone slid it along gravel.
A new junkyard bumper will cost less than a can of spray paint, so I got to thinking and wondering. Can I (easily) fit a bumper from another brand of car on mine, as long as the width is the same?
I've got the upper part, the one which covers the steel plate and styrofoam, and I'm just interested in the lower skirt-thing.
Has anybody here tried this successfully? Or is there a reliable list of models the 850 is compatible with?
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies =)

Can't swear to it, but pretty sure '94 through '97 are all the same. Dealer or parts-house that sells them would be able to tell you. JY guy that know their stuff should be able to tell you too. That might include '93 too but that was first year model so who knows.
I swapped a '95 and '96 850 rear bumper w/o issue; exactly the same.

Spending a day at the junkyard was my original plan. I'm just not so sure if the folks there are too happy about me picking apart their cars without buying the parts, so I hoped somebody here had tried already. =)
96/97 model ( File:1996-1997 Volvo 850 AWD station wagon (2011-11-18) 01.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia this one) fits on '94. It's the type I'm using at the moment.
I'm hoping for a wider gap between the models. An older 740 or a newer V40 would be prime. (=
