Did you find the post where one of the Members Daughters rolled her 850 and walked away with minor bumps and bruses?
Minus a little cave in of the roof the car would have still be fixable. I believe it was still drivable at the time the pics were taken.

As safe as the 850 was in its time, do you really think any 14-year-old car could hold a candle to a virtually new Honda CR-V? Technology changes.

I disagree on this. I always try to take the volvo as much as possible too. hell I sometimes take it to vw get togethers
were going on a 400 mile trip this weekend and we are using the newest car...the Jetta GLI. Even thou the volvo is an automatic, softer ride,has leather heated seats,trip computer,and a larger car. the volvo may also be safer due to it weighs 200lbs more. even thou the jetta has more airbags and a much better traction control (ESP). THE jetta does much better on using the 93 octane thou due to the different gearing. I am also running my snow tires on the Gli. When your on vacation you dont want to worry about your car. I used to take my Vanagon up into the catskills to do camping. the whole trip I would be watching the temprature guage, checking oil etc.etc. IF I get stuck then I would always worry about finding a tow and a decent repair shop let alone trying to find parts. New cars will have the warranty and sometimes even have roadside assistance. any car can breakdown no matter how new. I ll be bringing my AAA card and a north american vw dealer locator book just in case. I bet its easier to find a honda repairshop then a volvo shop. i know it is for vws. most likely the volvo would be fine I just dont like to take risks. i think the volvo is built better too, but no car is inmmune to time. I hate Japanese cars but there safety has a come a long way, just look at the new civic crash tests. I would take the 07 CRV the AWD may be handy too.
