Central Locking Relay
I've got a 1996 Volvo 850 with a battery drain problem. I've tracked it down to the central locking relay connected to fuse #11/6 that appears to be staying on after I turn off the car. It drains the battery in a couple of days if I don't start it.
Does anyone know the part number for this relay. I think it is located under the dash on the drivers side.
Thank you.

It is relay 205/206 - Under the dash, left of the steering column as you are looking under the dash, mounted high on the firewall.
Keep in mind that the central locking relaysignals to the courtesy light circuits as well as the locks and the draw you see might be from the courtesy lights rather than the relay itself.

my glove box door has "relaxed" over its 13+ years and it no longer presses the button firmly enough to extinguish the bulb inside. i recently replaced all of my interior lamps and a few days later discovered that the glove box bulb was draining the battery. (i still need to fix this issue)
this may not be the case for you but the wire daigram in my haynes book looks like the interior lamps run through the same circuit and/or relay.
good luck!

A good trick I saw to deal with the glove box door was to get the little rubber bumpers that keep kitchen cabinet doors from banging when they are closed and stick one on to the glove box door where it meets the switch pin. The bumpers come in small sheets at any home center and they are self adhesive.
Very quick, very easy, and very cheap. My kind of a repair!

Thank you all for the suggestions. The courtesy lights draw about 1.5 A until they time out. The residual current in the car is about 30ma. I'm seeing a 200ma draw that does not dissappear until I pull fuse 11/7 and then replace it. I did an experiment over a three day period and was able to identify that this 200ma draw was the culprit. The question now is, "Is it the relay sticking or something else related to that circuit.
I'm still having trouble finding a replacement relay.
Thanks again.
