232 means long term fuel trim. Means a vaccum leak somewhere or something like that.

It could cause the engine to run rich and the smoke you are seeing/smelling is unburnt fuel

just wanted to give an update on my code P0440 I was running.
Checked all the vacuumn lines this weekendand the problem
turned out to be a clogged tube (not sure of the name) that
goes from the air filter, black rubber and about 2ft long.
Cleaned it out full of leaves, reset the error codes and the check
engine light disappeared. Anyone know the name of this rubber tube?

does this black rubber tube that's connected to the air filter (right next to a slightly larger off-white tube) also connect to somewhere else? what is this black tube? i found the other end not connected to anything.
