Default Checking Engine Codes on 97 850 T5
Is there a procedure here for checking the engine codes on a 1997 850 T5. I searched and only found a list of code numbers, nothing on how to find that code number. Thx

for anything over a 1995 you need a code reader. If you dont have one your local auto parts store will read them for free

I am used to the old OBD1 procedure. Ill have to look into buying a code reader.

Is there a special volvo one I should be looking at buying? Or what is most popular?

If you just checking codes generic one will work fine, if you want a really good one look into VOL-FCR
