Default Chime is dinging, but why?

First time I've driven the '93 850 since I replaced the sunroof and reinstalled the headliner (after cleaning on the bench—pictures coming). I also replaced the rear passenger side window motor, which now works. Problem is I'm hearing a dinging sound, the chime I guess, louder than if the key is in the ignition while the door is open. The dinging seems to start up randomly while I'm driving, sometimes continuing for several minutes, others just a few dings.
I had wires unplugged with the headliner out, it didn't ding when I drove it like that. I'm sure I replugged everything behind the door panel, but wondering if a loose wire there might set off the chime.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
JimBee

Check the visor wires and lighting wires. You might have one pinched. Causing it to ground at times while driving.

Default Chime; visor wires

Ahhh, the visor wires.
I cut the visor wires and taped them rather than reconnect, since I've never used the lights. Should I strip and connect the leads?

Well make sure they are not touching each other or metal.

I was careful to keep their live ends separated, so they're taped apart and wrapped with electrical tape, so they can't touch. If that's out, any other possibilities from the work I described? I shot a little J&B solvent on the door latch mechanism, but I THINK I kept it away from anything that seemed electrical. Any possible problems there?

The brain is tired! You mentioned other lighting wires; I will check those. Also, I left the drive motor out of the sunroof, could that cause it?

I would go back and recheck the wires to make sure they are not pitched and that the electrical tape has not come off.
