I would still say go with showroom gray, it's had proven results all around the volvo forums.

Well the problem is that the trim in the rear was painted and its peeling. my plan is to try to dye it sometime in the future

Oh really? It was painted? Must not have been done right or something. You could always sand it and paint all of the trim. That would look really nice on that wagon.

Yeah it may happen. depends what the result of the compression test and leakdown test expose. if all is good timing belt and pcv system. if its bad im going to find a engine at a junk yard and its build time which leaves no money for looks

Good point. Go comes before show. But if you did all the trim yourself, that wouldn't cost a lot, probably like 40 bucks for paint and sandpaper.

I'll try to put it on soon, but the spoiler is gray with a peeling clear coat, and my wagon is maroon. Not exactly matching.

I've seen a couple wagons with the two tone spoiler, it doesn't look too bad on some of them, I personally am not a huge fan of it. I think the only two tone that would look OK would be the carbon fiber rear spoiler from carbonfiberwerks.com
