Just to let you guys know, when doing the PCV system, it is NOT necessary to take all of the manifold bolts completely out. The row of bottom bolts only need to be loosened. The intake manifold is designed to sit on the bolts, the top row needs to be removed and then the manifold lifts up and out. It will make it 100x easier.

sorry to hijack the thread again. My 850 non turbo which had some oil blowing through the dipstick does not want to start now. It had sat for a couple days and tried starting this morning and it wouldn't start. Tried again on lunch break and it started briefly. Struggled and died after 10 seconds. Smoke out the back and didn't smell too great. I could hear pressure hissing out the dipstick after it cut out.

Anyway to test the PCV or anything else it might be? Getting parts sent from the US is expensive and takes some time. I don't want to get them wrong. Plus its happened at the worst time with a new baby coming home and one car out of action.

any advice would be appreciated. I'm not even sure where the pcv system is. Haynes manual made no mention of it.

It's also more commonly called the flame trap and it's located underneath the intake manifold. There really is no way to test it. It kinda sounds like your problems run a little deeper. I've never heard of a PCV system actually not allowing a car to run.

not the news I was hoping for . It sounded like it was trying to turn over but just wouldn't catch. It ran perfectly when I parked it previously. Not quite sure where to start checking. Just did an oil change a few days ago. I'll double check that I didn't over-fill it but it ran ok for a few days afterwards

More gouge with guide and pictures. Fairly easy but time consuming fix.

Consider having your fuel injectors rebuilt when you remove them. Had mine done and one was real bad. http://injector-rehab.com/ Highly recommended by me.

Rebuild the injectors???? You don't have to remove the injectors when you do the PCV system.
