Default Coolant leak

Hey everyone,
I have a '95 850 turbo wagon. For a short while now I've seen some coolant leaking from the waterpump area, or thats where I assume it's coming from, I have not been able to get under the car to look. As it has been warmer here the last week or so, the leak has stopped completely. My best guess is that it only leaks when I use the heat or defroster. The passenger side of the windshield gets foggy on the inside, the drivers side does not. I plan to change out the water pump and all timing components this weekend. Any ideas? Any one experience this before?

thanks,
Mike

It leaks anywhere from a 4 inch puddle to a larger stream on the ground when sitting. I have not checked while running. The cabin smells like coolant when the engine gets to operating temp with the defrost running.

I have done no other work on the car recently.

If the heater core is draining out the drain it will drop from the middle of the car under where the cat. converter is.

I agree, it sounds like you have a leak in the heater core. One other area to check is the where the heater hoses go from the engine into the heater core (through the firewall). You might have leaky O-rings there.
