coolant leak advise???
Hi, I have a coolant leak that I can't seem to locate. I'm not able to jack my car where it is today but I took these picture. Does this look familiar to anyone? I parked it last night and it was leaking out very quickly. I opened the hood and heard the hissing as it leaked out. This morning my coolant res. was empty and I put some water in to try and locate. This is what I saw right behind the engine. Any help please?
You're going to have to trace where that little stream of coolant is coming from. It looks like it is coming from the left side of the engine. On that end there is the bottom radiator hose, along with the inlet and outlet hoses for the heater core. It may be something as simple as a hose that needs tightening, but more than likely it is going to be something that needs replacing. The hoses I named are hidden down underneath other stuff (especially the bottom radiator hose) and won't just jump out at you when you look on that end of the engine. The heater core hoses attach to the engine (at "B" and "D" in the picture) and then run to the firewall ("C" in the picture). The bottom radiator hose attaches to the engine (back water pipe at red arrow in picture) and runs to the radiator. This page/picture may help.
