Default Coolant leaking from thermostat--dangerous to drive?

Hi all, I've already posted about my thermostat woes (here). Now I have to get the car to the mechanic on Monday. Is there a risk in driving it? It's not leaking a lot, just dripping. But I read somewhere that it might be dripping onto the alternator, which sounds risky.

Problem solved. I had the car towed, although I may not have needed to: a) the alternator is not directly below the thermostat, and b) the thermostat may not have been leaking after all. In any event, see the other thread (here) for how it was resolved.
