Angry Coolant light

Hi Guys,
I have a little problem. On Friday night on my way home my coolant light came on. It was coming on anoff/ on and off. My brother used the car on Saturday and he put coolant in it. He over filled it. I took the out today and and the light came on again. I had no choice but ti drive around 2 miles with it(checked to see if the level is low and thats when I found out it was over filled). I noticed that when i'm on flats and hills the light comes on and donwslope it goes off. When I got home I removed some of the coolant to get it to the capacity level.
Could it be my coolant sensor is bad

Any help will be apprecciated
Riculus

p.s. I have a 1995 850 glt non-turbo

Crazy as it sounds, you might have had an air bubble in the system. Other than that, I can think of no reason the light would come on if it is overfilled, unless the coolant level sensor is gone....

If you have fluid in the reservor(sp) and its full and the light is coming on then your sensor is going or gone. The sensor is in the bottom of the reservor and would not come on unless the coolant level is low within the reservor.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I drove to work last night and back home and it did not come on. If it does again I would replace the sensor.
