Default Cruise Control..is there an adjustment?

Hey brick layers, my wagon just started to slowly let go of the cruise control. It does not totally disengage though. I saw Rob's (RSPI) video on cruise control repair and read some threads regarding it but my issue is kind of weird. When I activate the cruise it will engage then slowly lose grip, probably 8 to 10 mph lower than where I set it. Then it stays there until I disengage it or shut it off. When I resume it, it goes to the lower speed, the speed I DID NOT set it to but rather the one it felt like staying on before. I know the gas pedal has a control rod attached to it but I did not see that it can be adjusted.

Is there another adjustment I can do? The last resort I feel I'm going to do is leave the battery unplugged overnight to reset the computer. Any suggestions?

Likely a vacuum leak. The "controller" is the relay near the fuel pump relay.

I'm going to give that a try and post results. I didn't get any codes, pulling the relay may trigger a code. I don't know about a vacuum leak since it stays steady at the lower speed. I'll pull vacuum with my handheld pump and see if it holds. The gas pedal bellow that holds the gas pedal rod is what I'm suspecting.

How about the speed sensor on the tranny? Could it go bad in that fashion? Could it be that it misunderstands the speed it's being told to stay on?

If the speed sensor was bad you would see it in your speedometer. So if you dont see an issue there when not using the cruise then its fine.

Turns out I am not losing vacuum pressure. Unplugged the battery overnight and it looks like it's all set
