Exclamation Diagnose NO reverse lights!

I got pulled over at the Mall this evening because apparently I had no reverse lights! The cop was super cool about the whole thing since he is into euros, but did tell me to get it fixed. Got home, and all lights work, with the exception of the reverse bulbs. Kinda odd. Will go thru the car tomorro but does anyone have any advice on where to start with the obvious stuff, fuses, bulbs, etc.......

That is normally a "tell" that your PNP switch on the transmission is on its way out. Things get worse from there like the blinking up arrow and the car starts of in third gear.

OK, that's just the switch under the center console right? I think it's an easy fix, right?

While we're on this subject, the backup lights on my '93 850 5 speed don't work. I replaced a couple of bulbs and the dash light for faulty bulbs is off but still no backup lights. Where should I look for the switch?

Yours has a different switch which I believe screws into the top and has 2 wires coming off of it.

Checked out the reverse light bulbs to make sure they weren't the culprit! Changed them out with new ones. Nothing, however when I lock the car they do flash with the keyless entry! So off to FCP grotton for a PNP switch!
