Default Do I need a new Turbo for my T5?

K guys, so i'm always fixing my car lately but now i'm blowing smoke out the back when i let off the throttle from boost, barely have any boost as it is, hardly crosses the white line, all vacuum lines are new, volvo mechanic says i have shaft play and its spewing oil inside the turbo and blowing it out the exhaust manifold, or whatever. I had the waste gate replaced, but now i'm blowing some nasty white smoke. What's my cheapest fix, i don't want to part with my car, but if its going to be $1500 like i was quoted for a rebuild, is it worth it? What can I do?

On ebay they sell a 19t upgrade for $800 plus i'd need a modified downpipe, but, what bolts on directly, what fits i've got the 1994 T5 not the 13t but the 15t. anyone have ideas on what i should replace, what fits, where to get, or is anyone selling? Please help, so close to giving up, thanks!!

if you just want a replacement turbo, talk to tryingbe over at turbobricks.
He can set you up with a new or rebuilt turbo. As long as you find a replacement volvo(mitsubishi) turbo with the same exhaust housing, it will drop right in.

Just search the for sale sections on forums. However, since it's a 94, you have to make sure that the turbo that your replace it with is from a 94 or 95. In those years they used conical housings on them, so if you get a turbo that has a straight or angled housing, it won't fit your DP. Any 15G turbo will fit (that's what's in your car now), if you can't find one from those years, just swap housings with the replacement turbo and your existing turbo.

I just recently swapped housing on my turbo to upgrade my exhaust and put on a straight flange housing, it's fairly simple to remove the turbo and swap housings, one bolt and it slides off.
