My sunvisor on the driver'sside messed up so I bought a used one from Erie Volvo. You know simple job two bolts and it's done. Well it came with this long wire cause of the light in the mirror. I tried to trace the wire down into the dash and finally said screw it and just cut the wire and spliced the new one in. I am just too damn old to get in under the dash and figure out where it goes.

Well I got it all done and the visor works fine, but when I got in it to come to work this morning my door chime would not quit dinging. Anybody have any ideas on what I screwed up? I did have the molding around the door on the inside off to track the wire and I started to take the top of the dash off, but just thought it was too much work when all I had to do is cut a wire and splice it back together.

It's on the 05 T5R. I drove the V70 since I did not what to hear that chiming all day.

 

Check fuses 3, 6, and 15. The wires were hot when you cut them and that whole circuit feeds off of the central locking relay.

Dome light fuse is blown.
Replace and it will be fine.
When you cut the wires it blew the fuse. Which keeps the door chime going.

It's great having 3 cars though. I didn't even check anything when the chime went off in the morning. Just got in another car and went to work.
