Driver's Side Wiper Adjustment
Hey all, I've only been driving my 850 for a few weeks now, and my driver's side windshield wiper blade is out of alignment. The blade seems to lose contact with the windshield about halfway through its path, and the left side of my view remains obscured during hard rains. I scrolled through the "N00b here....some maintenance questions" thread and saw thatsomeonewas having the same problem, and Tech pointed him to another post that I was unable to find. I've never done any work with wiper arms before, any advice?
Take the whole arm off the car and put the end where you bolt to the car in a vise and bend it just slightly. It does not take much and be very careful. I have done this to one of my cars and one of the other does come off the window slightly. Very common on these cars for some reason. The come off real easy with just one small bolt. That bolt is known to come lose too and cause you wipers to go all over the place.
I bent mine as well. On a side note, the drivers side got loose from it's bolt and wouldn't budge in hard rain a few years ago. I've since made it a habit of checking to make sure that bolt is secure on a regular internval. What a PITA that was.
