Default electric cooling fan problem

hey everyone,
So i got a new 850 motor installed into my car after it blew a head gasket, and believe me, i feel like i know that car like the back of my hand now. lol
Anyways, I am kinda having a problem with my cooling system. I have noticed that my cooling fan does not turn on except when i turn my AC switch on and turn my fan switch on. weird? I think so.
So what i have done, is with the ac and fan switch off, i tried bleeding the cooling system and the coolant just kept filling up from the overfill hose. as soon as i shut the car off, it would drain completly.
Now, when i turn on the ac and fan switch, the coolant level remains the same but the fan doesnt turn off. I believe the fan is supposed to turn on only when it needs to regardless if the switches are on or off.

I just installed a new thermostat, coolant reservoir, and made sure there were no leaks.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Cody

the radiator Fan is supposed to come on when the A/C switch is on. Did you replace your coolant temp sensor?

your talking about the temp sensor that is by the thermostat right? I left the sensor that came with the motor cuz it has less miles than my other sensor. my gauge is working fine, but do you know if there is a seperate sensor for the fan alone?

Yes that is correct, and there is a relay right above the fan

No I have not changed that sensor assuming it works by the gauge. I checked relay and it clicks and works fine. The wire diagram says the hot wire runs to a fusable link? I didn't even know my car had those. I looked anyways and I can't find one anywhere
