Default Engine gets a lot cooler on the highway.

Not a big issue, but it's a bit odd. Driving around town in 30 degree (Fahrenheit) weather, the temperature guage got to it's usual mark of just over halfway. However, once I got on the highway the needle slowly dropped to just a quarter. When I got back in town, the engine warmed up again.

Unfortunately this is the first time I've been on the highway all winter, so I have no idea whether this has been an issue for a while.

I would suspect the thermostat. Many people seem to be encountering the same issue lately.

Yep, change out the thermostat. Pretty soon you will not be getting any heat if the 'stat goes completely bad.

I think it might be the thermostat.

You know.....after giving it much thought, it just might be the O2 sensor, or even the wheel bearing....(just kidding!!)
