Default Engine Number question

I have a question, I have receipts when I purchased my 95 Volvo 850 T5R for a replacement engine. I want to know if anyone can make sense of the engine number as I thought it was meant to have a T in it for Turbo? The number is B5234224508.

Thanks for any help on this.

That is most likely only the serial number which doesn't always have the t in it.

Thanks guys, the motor has the same no on the block. Could it be possible that this motor came from a non turbo car? and if so will the motor be ok being in my 850 t5r?

They would have had to do WAY to much work to get a nonturbo motor into a Turbo car.
The blocks on the nonturbo cars aren't even drilled out for the turbo return line.
The numbers above just mean a 5234 Then the 224508 is the serial number.
BTW a 5234S nonturbo motor was only avalible in thailand.

Thanks for you help, I was a little worried about the engine being turbo'd if it shouldn't have. The motor has apparantly done 80,000kms. Goes great and very quick. I am new to this whole volvo thing. My brother has the yellow t5r and I have a black one. Not bad cause I think they only sent 20 over here to oz!! The cars are awesome and and enjoyment to drive. Having come from the renault camp I can honestly say I am glad I made the change. Thanks again.
