Cool fault in the engine electronic system

How are you guys! well when im driving home there is time to time will show my ( fault in the engine electronic system) the one near left of service soon light sorry i dont know how will describe that i just read my manual and said its about electronic sysytem well my symptoms that i occure is when im driving and suddenly the light show up it looses the power but it take only for a seconds. any idea or experience with this. thanks

hi tech!,
Not really i never drove it thru the water. i just notice that when i change from 93+ unlaeded to 95+ it show the sypmtoms since it use to be 95+ but since my mechanic told me use 93+ only. i have full tank it with 93+ but when i read the volvo manual it said really need to use 95+so i change it again and .put back to 95+and then i notice that it show sometimes the sign for a second ( fault in engine electronicsystem).is there any idea what happen if you drive thru water? or just in case if you detail or do some engine wash? is it bad tech? thanks and regards.

since it show this warning sign.

I guess that for the fuel type, Volvo only asks for UNLEADED FUEL ONLY but the computer can adjust rest of the parameters according to the combustion you get from different grade of fuel. I personally drove my 96 estate on lowest grade (87 Octane) thru out and never had any issues. So, if your car showed no bad symptoms on 93+ then switch it back to that one.....

If you drive through water the belt slips and causes what it happening that's why I asked.

Maybe check all connections good at the battery and alternator and starter.

Default electronic fault

hi! tech thanks for the reply. i found out the problem with my faulty sign one day i usually park my car and always open my hood when i got home in the morning i usually do some warm ups! i notice when i put down my hood it suddenly will turn off my engine it so weird so what i did i try to open my computer box and i found out that my computer box the one you slide in are loose and not proper insert i just pull out and lock it again and it works fine.i love volvo it never pull me over any where even there is a problem you can still manage to drive it you cannot do this with benz or beamer. Thanks for the support until next time.
