Flashers work when car is off but not when it is running
Worked fine this morning, but when I turned the car on this afternoon, flashers don't work when the engine is running (no clicking, nothing), but when key is in on position with engine off, flashers work fine. Hazards work either way. I guess that means relay is good - where to look next?
Probably coincidence, but also today shifter won't come out of park without pressing override, and ABS light goes out after a few seconds when key in ignition, but as soon as engine is turned on ABS light goes on and stays on. It is the first warm day today, car was warm inside. I guess the gremlins came out of hibernation.
The car is 1995 850 Turbo Sedan.

Sounds like your ignition is going bad. Did the windows work? Try starting the car and turning the key back just a little. I have had several 960's that do this. My current 960 had an ignition that doesn't spring back the way it should.
You are absolutely right... helping the key back fixes the problem with flashers, ABS light and shifter. Do you know what part needs to be replaced, or if squirting in appropriate lubricant is likely to help?
Is that the same problem on my 960? Are you saying that it IS springing back far enough and that the internal part of the connections are bad?
I just turn the key back and keep going. Been doing that for years now.
